Sam came to us from Chicago Anti Cruelty Shelter and will be truning a year old in January. We're not sure what happened to him in his previous home but Sam does have some trust issues with new people. Sam recently completed a 6 week Basic Training course with me and did great. He is very smart and a quick learner but is cautious meeting new people. Sam can only be adopted to an experienced dog owner that will implement the Nothing In Life is Free Program and give him lots of praise for positive behavior. We will consider Adult only home for Sam. He would love to have another doggie buddy to play with. Sam is a real lap cuddler and loves to go for walks. He is potty trained and scratches/whines at the door when he needs to go out. He rides great in the car. Once Sam gets to know you, he will be a very loyal companion. Email me with any questions at ss629ms@frontier.com

In October of 2010, Tucker was slated to be euthanized in a high kill Arkansas shelter. Tucker was out of time and he was only a year old. He was brought in as a stray. I got the Urgent message about him and i said i would foster him to save his life. We adopted him out twice only to be returned to us. I couldn't understand why as he is such incredible dog. I told my husband that i think this was a clear sign that we were suppose to have Tucker in our lives so on Mother's Day 2011, Tucker officially became part of our family. He will probably greet you at the door when you drop off your dog at the Paw Patch. He is in the exact right place.

I am a volunteer for New Beginnings Shih Tzu Rescue. I am a foster home for these little ones until they can find their forever homes. Please check out our rescue site at www.nbstr.org  The rescue is always looking for volunteers. If you can't foster, there are many other ways you can donate your time. We need people to sew, to make phone calls, check references, do home vists, transport dogs from one location to another and the list goes on and on. Please consider helping this great organization and help make a difference in dogs lives.

Willow and Wyatt
ww.jpg

ADOPTED!Willow and Wyatt are a bonded pair of 7 yr old Shih tzus. They have come so far since first arriving in our home. They are still shy but so much better. They will come fully vetted. These two are so sweet and love to follow me around everywhere. They would be and ideal addition to a retired couple or a low keyed environment with no small children as they are eas. They are great for grooming and enjoy going for walks. Willow has learned to play to and has even taking up the art of playing tug of war. These two are very special and will need a loving home where they can go together. They are very healthy. Don't let their age scare you as this breed life expectancy can be 16 or 17 years old.

HAPPY ENDINGS

Adopted!Henry is an 18 month old Shih tzu/poodle mix and is a very smart boy who learns quickly. He needs to have a patient owner that can use positive reinforcement for good behavior. Henry spent the last 4 months in the medical unit of Chicago Animal Control. He was brought in as a stray with a broken leg.  Henry's leg was casted but didn't heal  properly.
