Today we finally recieved confirmation that the dogs are being transported from South Dakota to Minneapolis. There is a rescue volunteer that has agreed to keep Willow and Wyatt overnight there. Tomorrow she will drive them to Eau Claire. My husband and i will meet her there to pick up the dogs at 10:30 in the morning. I am anxious to get them home to start on their rehabilitation. I have a plan worked out, not saying it is going to work but it is what i am going to try. Will keep their progress posted here.

Sharon, the intake coodinator, contacted me yesterday to say they are planning on transporting Willow and Wyatt this weekend to me. She hasn't worked out all of the details yet, but will contact me when things are set. I offered to drive as far as LaCrosse to pick them up.Julie Lavin, the one that is in charge of Willow and Wyatt, left me her number to call her so we could talk about how the two are doing. Tried to call her, but i think she is working today. Hopefully we can connect later today so i can get some info about them.

Last night, i recieved an email from Sharon. She said she recieved a message from Julie Lavin(she is the rescuer on the other end) stating that they were planning to transport Wyatt and Willow this weekend to me. However, they are expecting some bad weather in South Dakota and will delay the transport untill the weather clears up. So we will wait a little longer for the furkids. As long as they are safe and out of the mill it's okay. Will do some more reading before they get here.

The dogs were rescued yeserday. Yeah!!!!!!! Sharon(she is the recue coordinatior) received an email tonite from Hearts United. That was the group that actually went in and rescued 99 dogs from this horrible puppy mill. Below is the link to the rescue that took place yesterday. There is an article along with some video footage. This is where our foster dogs are coming from. She said they were extremely  matted and were shaved down. I'm guessing they shaved them when the spayed and neutered.  http://hua.org/blog/99-nebraska-mill-dogs-rescued-2-receive-immediate-emergency-care-in-hopes-that-they-will-survive/   This is the ugly truth that no body wants to see.Still not sure when they will arrive. I am hoping that they are in good physical health at least.

Today i took some books out of my doggie library. i found 2 books that specificallly deal with shy and fearful behavior. I have read the half of one already. They are a great resources for the incoming puppymill dogsI am encouraged by the sucess stories in it. I'm am trying to digest as much information about these types of dogs. I'm am expecting the worst but praying for the best. One of the volunteers from the rescue told me to expect nothing from them in the beginning. These dogs may have shut down all emotions. I hope i will be able to reach them. Tomorrow they will be rescued from their hell hole. i have never seen these dogs or even a picture of them yet i am already emotional about their rescue.

Getting Involved
Today i decided to get involved in rescueing Shih tzus from horrible puppy mills and other bad situations. I signed on to foster those dogs coming from such hell holes until they can be rehabilitated and give them the love they deserve so they can become part of a forever family of their own. I will be fostering two 7 and 8 year old shih tzus. They will be getting pulled out of a HORRIBLE puppy mill this Sunday. They will becoming to me in the next week or two. I will keep a record of their progress on this blog. My goal is to spread the word about PUPPY MILLS and educate people what really goes on in these God forsaken places. And to let people know when they buy a puppy from a pet shop , they are really buying a puppymill dog! We have to STOP the supply and demand. Please support your local shelters and Rescues! Save a Life! you can go to www.nbstr.org to view shih tzus for addoption and to learn more about the rescue i am volunteering with. Also you can visit www.nowisconsinpuppymills.com to help put an end to Puppy mills.

Help save a Life! Adopt!

If you are interested in Adopting Willow and Wyatt please contact me.

Willow and Wyatt are a bonded pair of 7 year old Shih Tzus and need to be adopted together. A suitable home would be a low-keyed home. Perfect for a retired couple who would be home with them to continue their training. They are very sweet and good. Willow is the more shy of the two but she has made tremendous progress and now even engages in playing tug of war with me. A far cry from her arrival into foster care. She would cower in her cage-afraid to come out. But now she is adjusting to life outside of a puppy mill. Please consider adopting this adorable pair.
